IF YOU HAVE EVER FOUND A FOSSIL YOURSELF, AND WONDERED WHAT IS INSIDE THE ROCK, OR HOW PEOPLE GET THERE’S TO LOOK THE WAY THEY DO, LOOK NO FURTHER.

The pictures here show how something can go from a nothing, to any of these fantastic specimens.

Each fossil is carefully prepared using mechanical tools and abrasives, and can also be prepared by acid depending on the type of fossil it is.

Costs

£25 an hour.

An average sized Yorkshire ammonite usually takes around 30 minutes depending on the type of rock it is encased in.
